Liverpool and Arsenal played out a thriller on Sunday afternoon as the Reds came back from a 2-1 deficit to salvage a point from the fixture.

On a day when Trent Alexander-Arnold contributed his fair share, the Liverpool midfielder's future was the topic of conversation post-match, with Roy Keane delivering a brilliant one-liner all while shutting down Jamie Carragher's argument on Trent's future.

Mikel Arteta's men shot ahead with an early Bukayo Saka goal that glided past Caoimhin Kelleher before the clock had struck ten. However, in as quick a fashion, Virgil Van Dijk equalised the affair and teed up a nail-biting hour of football in London.

Under pressure, Arne Slot's defence tried in vain to hold their adversaries to a single goal before seeking refuge in the tunnel, but two minutes before the break Mikel Merino broke the deadlock and sent Arsenal in a goal the better.

While for long periods it looked like Arsenal's deep defence would see out the ninety minutes, Mohamed Salah delivered a dramatic 81st-minute equaliser to guarantee his side wouldn't leave the capital empty-handed.

After Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a more than impressive shift in Liverpool's draw with Arsenal, the Sky Sports crew were left discussing whether the midfielder should consider a move away from Anfield or not.

Speaking about the prospect, Jamie Carragher was convinced that a move away from his home city would see Alexander-Arnold risk his legendary status and possibly even fall out with the Liverpool faithful.

Michael Owen moved, Steve McManaman moved and they were two amazing players for Liverpool, but they're not thought of as amazing players by Liverpool supporters because they moved on.

That's one of the reasons Steven Gerrard is such a legend at the club and seen as the greatest ever player to play for the club because he stayed here for his whole career.

Vintage Roy Keane however, was having none of Carra's argument, shutting down the former Liverpool star's argument with a brilliant one-liner.

Loyalty you think has to come into it? Right.

I always say you want loyalty get yourself a dog.

And that's from my own experience.

Having been treated to some vintage Roy Keane wisdom, there was little Carragher could do but laugh.

While Keane may have reduced the studio to a fit of laughter, he was deadly serious in his belief that Trent Alexander Arnold would be well-served exploring opportunities with other clubs - something he claimed he would do if he could have his time back.

Sunday's lost points, now leave Arne Slot's Liverpool a single point behind Manchester City in the Premier League standings.
