Less than 20 minutes were remaining between Man Utd and CSKA Moscow on Tuesday with the game still scoreless. A feeling of desperation was beginning to grasp Old Trafford.
Ashley Young felt something needed to be done. Of course, this meant the winger looking to nefariously win a penalty, rather than showing leadership or any form of laudable endeavour.
Young threw himself towards the CSKA left-back, initiating the contact. Claims for a penalty were swiftly waved after by the referee, though Young did not receive any punishment his simulation.
On ITV's Wednesday night Champions League highlights, Roy Keane offered his assessment of Young and of the incident.
The disdain for Young's behaviour against CSKA Moscow and in general throughout his Man Utd career was clear.
I think the guy's a disgrace. If he's a Man Utd player, I'm a Chinaman.
Absolute disgrace, he's done it far too many times. Look at that, absolute disgrace. I just hope players are getting a hold of him - whether it be the manager or some of the senior players. That shouldn't be accepted at Man Utd. That's absolutely disgraceful.
That's not leaving your leg in, that's different. When he does leave his leg in, the part that comes afterward is this triple sommersault. He's a disgrace.
Get hold of him, say 'you don't behave like that playing for Man Utd'.
