When Roy Keane reveals that he doesn't have a particular fondness for any celebrity it's not exactly surprising. However, even the most ardent of Keane supporters must have been somewhat taken aback at his war of words with Rod Stewart.

Better known for his singing and rockstar antics, Stewart is also well-known for his love of football and Celtic, with the rockstar one of the Glaswegian club's most famous supporters.

Surprisingly enough, it was Stewart who kickstarted the war of words between himself and Keane when he called the former Manchester United legend a bully on talkSPORT three years ago.

Roy Keane hits out at 'rubbish' Rod Stewart

Famously not one to hold a grudge, Keane seems to still be harbouring some resentment from Stewart's rant.

Chatting to his co-pundits on Stick To Football, Keane took a pop at Stewart pleading his innocence in the altercation to Jill Scott before claiming he slags everyone off.

He had a go at me, he has a go at everyone, who does he think he is? I done nothing Jill, why do you think I done something?

Rod Stewart slags everyone off, who does he think he is?

While the rest of Stick To Football's star-studded lineup were raving about Stewart, and even Keane admitted that he went to see him two years ago, he was far from convinced by the now 80-year-old's performance.

Rod Stewart fucking hell, he has a go at everybody, who does he think he is. Egg!

He's not great. I saw him two years ago, I'll tell you he was rubbish. He was rubbish that night.

While Keane may have gotten the last word, it was Stewart who aired the flames of this fire, giving out about the Cork man's punditry appearances.

"I think Roy can be a bit of a bully sometimes," Stewart said.

I admired him as a player but he’s a bit of a bully. I think there’s a way of speaking your mind, and I think he’s far too aggressive.

Although the pair might not see eye-to-eye on each other, they might just have more in common with each other than they think, with neither Keane nor Stewart afraid of speaking their minds in front of a microphone, both men loving Celtic, and Cork loving both men.

Rod Stewart played in Keane's home city back in 2023 and 2019, with the Celtic supporter taking to the stage of the hollowed Supervalu Pairc Ui Chaoimh and the city's Big Top for Live At The Marquee.
