West Ham had an afternoon to forget at the London Stadium as Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side hammered their city rivals 6-0.

Arsenal went into the break with a 4-0 lead thanks to goals from William Saliba, Bukoya Saka (penalty), Gabriel and Leandro Trossard.

The Gunners had been on top despite the game being cagey initially and once Saliba netted the floodgates opened and West Ham fell apart.

Saka would go onto net again in the second half along with Declan Rice who was playing against his former club.

22-year-old Saka is now the youngest ever player to score fifty goals for Arsenal.

At half-time in the Sky Sports studio the task fell to Roy Keane and Paul Merson to chew over what they had just witnessed.

It is fair to say that neither for impressed with how David Moye's side had performed.

Keane gave his thoughts:

"West Ham in the last ten or fifteen minutes there have been an absolute disgrace," he said.

"The first half an hour was a bit cagey obviously, Arsenal were getting on top. It's the type of goals that they are giving away. they're not being physical, they're not tackling. Ødegaard...nobody's laid a glove on him.

"There's ways to lose a game of football but the way West Ham are doing it...they look old, they look sluggish in midfield, they're running back, no desire, no hunger.

"David Moyes must be fuming at half-time. All credit to Arsenal, they've turned up and flexed their muscles. They look sharp and at it. West Ham, disgrace."

While much of the post-match analysis centered on Arsenal, Keane gave some more thoughts on the lacklustre West Ham performance.

"They really let their manager down today," he said.

"At some stage your pride has got to kick in. We didn't see it with them today."
