All the way back in the 1998/99 season, Ruud Gullit had an ill fated spell in charge of Newcastle. Despite the fact that he was just a bit shit as a manager altogether, what really did it in for him in the North East of England was his decision to drop Alan Shearer for a match against Sunderland.

It was big news at the time but time passes and the two adversaries are now pundits on BBC. Happily, they're able to look back on the incident with a smile.
