Seamus Coleman has once again showed his class with a nice gesture to fans and mascots before Ireland's friendly against Norway at the Aviva Stadium.

Before the Aviva was crowded with fans and any of the players were on the pitch, the Everton defender took the time to meet all the mascots, who were thrilled to see their hero.

The group of mascots were from Creeslough in Donegal, a community that was torn apart in a tragic explosion that sadly claimed the lives of 10 people.

Coleman, who is from Donegal, took the time to talk to the children and their parents, and posed for photos prior to tonight's game, further showing what a true role model is for young people across the country.

It could have been very easy for Coleman to keep to himself and focus on tonight's game, Ireland's final home game of the year. However it's clear that he is always remembers what is truly important to him, in a moment that those mascots are likely to never forget.

It hasn't been the easiest few months for Seamus Coleman, who has been out of the Everton and Republic of Ireland sides, despite being captain for both club and country.

After the friendlies against Norway and Malta, Seamus Coleman will get the opportunity to spend some much needed quality time in Donegal with a break in club football until christmas due to the World Cup.

With Everton in a relegation battle once again and fans turning against their manager Frank Lampard in recent games, a spell with the national team may be a breath of fresh air, regardless of what happens over the next few days.

Coleman is among the replacements in tonight's game, with Matt Doherty starting right-wing back, and Callum O'Dowda on the left flank.
