Watch: Everton's Tribute Video For Seamus Coleman Makes Us Even Prouder Of Irish Captain

There's been a palpable sense of shock for Irish fans since Friday night when our captain and shining light Seamus Coleman had his leg broken by Neil Taylor.

Coleman is the Irish player that covers all bases for Irish fans. For a start, he's the one player we can claim to be "genuine world class", something we're always very fond of. Secondly, he made it relatively late, through the League of Ireland and works and works to get the most out of his talent level. And thirdly, he's a total gentleman, universally popular.

In our grief though, we may have forgotten the impact Coleman's injury will have on his club side. Everton are having a solid and improving season under Ronald Koeman, and even have an outside chance of Champions League qualification if their current form keeps up.

Coleman has been a huge part of their good form this season. He's scored four goals from right back, and also contributed three assists. Now, he'll miss out on the run in and probably most of next season too.

The club have responded with a touching tribute video for their star.

On the week of a Merseyside Derby, the video, posted on the club's official Facebook page, has received nearly 250,000 views already.

Their website is also running a campaign for fans to get in touch with Coleman and wish him well in his recovery.

A nice touch to know our captain won't be forgotten while he gets back to his best.
