It was all going so well for Sean St. Ledger at Orlando City. On the pitch he made a great start to his career, was hailed for this outstanding defensive display and was giddy at the thought of playing with Kaka. Off the field, he even had Taylor Swift signing songs about him.

But now it's all gone wrong.

Local reports from Orlando suggest that St. Ledger has been 'waived' (American vernacular for released). The 37-times capped Irish defender only managed 15 games for the MLS club and was thought to be doing well - but it looks like Orlando have their eye on a big international signing now that St. Ledger's international spot on their roster has opened up.

The team are currently in a three-way fight for a playoff spot for the MLS Cup playoffs.

What now for 30-year-old St. Ledger remains to be seen.
