69 minutes into Southampton's loss to Chelsea on Saturday, Shane Long departed the St. Mary's pitch to be replaced by Graziano Pelle.

Just before half time, Long had given his side the lead with a deft finish over Thibaut Courtois - a sight we hope to be seeing this summer when the Tipp man plays in green against Belgium.

At the time of his substitution it was thought that Long could possibly have a knee injury. It has turned out to be nothing as serious.

Speaking to the Southampton YouTube Channel, Ronald Koeman described Long's fitness issue as merely cramp. He is a doubt for Southampton's trip to Bournemouth on Tuesday.

We have one doubt about Shane Long.

It was a little bit cramp, it was not really a hamstring injury. We have the session later on and then we will make the decision if he is ready for tomorrow, but he will be doubtful for tomorrow.

Long has been in decent goal scoring form for Southampton of late. Saturday's goal was his tenth of the season in all competitions.

Shane is doing very well this season. He's very dangerous, he's scoring goals, he's creating a lot of problems to defenders.

You like to have everybody available, but we have real competition in all parts of the team and that makes the team stronger.

If you can't use to player, the other player needs to be sharp to play and show his qualities.

You can watch Koeman's interview below.
