Sheffield United Being Investigated After Anti-Muslim Chants At Recent Game

A Sheffield United fan has accused his fellow supporters of racist abuse towards Bradford City supporters during a Yorkshire derby game on Monday.

Roman Mohamed told the Mirror that Sheffield United supporters chanted 'you're just a town full of ISIS' at the away supporters during the game.

It was not a band of 10 of 20, more like a band of 100 according to Mohamed.

It was more than just five or 10 fans it was more like a few hundred. I could make out they were singing 'you're just a town full of ISIS' towards the Bradford fans.

I was disgusted, you cannot compare a whole town to a murderous fanatical cult that has nothing to do with Islam.

Both the FA and Sheffield United have confirmed they are investigating the claims. Bradford City chairman Mark Lawn called the chants 'moronic'.

Bradford has a large Muslim population and ethnic tension has blighted the city in the past. Salman Rushdie famously received one of his most stinging reviews in the city of Bradford in 1989.
