Video: Confusion Reigns As Sligo Rovers' Manager Steps Down. Or Has He?

Something strange is happening out west. As had been rumoured for a while, League of Ireland club Sligo Rovers announced yesterday evening that they had parted ways with their manager Owen Heary.

Heary had taken sharge of the club in October of last year, and despite being sacked and subsequently reinstated already this week, Sligo Rovers released a statement last night that suggested Heary had left the club under his own bat:

Sligo Rovers F.C. reluctantly wish to confirm that Owen Heary has stepped down as First Team Manager and departed the club. We would like to thank Owen for his services to the club and wish him all the best for what will without doubt be a successful managerial career.

However, this is where things get a little confusing. Heary was working as a TV analyst covering the live game between St. Pat's and Longford, and was able to respond to their statement immediately:

Que? What the hell is going on out west? How can someone step down from a post without having any knowledge of that?

This doesn't sound like the last we've heard of this.
