If football is life, then 5-a-side football is our lifeblood. Most of us will never be good enough to line out in Tallaght Stadium, let alone the Bernebeu or the San Siro, but that's not to say the potential for football greatness doesn't exist within us. In fact, it is only during that hour or so of 5-a-side every week that we get to unleash our inner Bergkamp, our inner Keane, our inner Ronaldo. The bonds we form with our 5-a-side teammates go incredibly deep. To paraphrase Bill Shankley, some people believe 5-a-side is a matter of life and death, we can assure you it is much, much more important than that.
If you treat 5-a-side with a similar passion, we want to hear from you. You see, Balls.ie and Snickers are delighted to announce we will be holding a 5-a-side tournament on May 19 at the soccer pitches in Irishtown. And we need teams to take part so we can find Ireland's best 5-a-side team.
In order to win this tournament, however, you'll need to defeat a team of well-known ex-footballers who'll be looking to prove their mastery.
At stake will be fame, glory and the rare chance to play football against truly elite players.
