It's no stretch to say that Spurs' season has completely unravelled in recent weeks, with the club exiting the FA Cup and Champions League to Sheffield United and AC Milan respectively.

Now, their charge for a top four spot looks to be playing out in similar style, with the club faltering in the Premier League.

Saturday's action brought another dramatic swing, as Spurs gave away a last minute equaliser to relegation-threatened Southampton, throwing their top four hopes further into disarray.

After the game, manager Antonio Conte took an extraordinary swipe at the culture of the club, saying that it was no surprise that they had not won trophies in recent years due to the actions of the players and the board.

Spurs once again dropped points in dramatic fashion on Saturday, with James Ward-Prowse's injury-time penalty rescuing a draw for Southampton.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte was already coming under fire from the club's fans after their Champions League exit to AC Milan, and now it appears he has lost the head.

In his post-match press conference on Saturday, Conte went in on the club in extraordinary fashion. He said that the team was "used" to scenes like those seen on Saturday, before saying that the club's nature was why they had not won major trophies in the past 15 years.

They're used to it here. Don't play for something important. They don't want to play under pressure. They don't want to play under stress. Tottenham's story is this. 20 years there is the owner & they never won something. Why?

Until now I tried to hide the situation. We can fight for what in this period, with this attitude, this commitment? For what? 7th? 8th place?

We are not a team. We are 11 players that go onto the pitch. I see selfish players, players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put their heart in.

The wheels certainly seem to be coming off for the North London side, and it would be a huge surprise to see Antonio Conte remain in charge next season, with his contract up in the summer and both parties seeming content to end their current arrangement.

With their Champions League hopes faltering, and Spurs out of every cup competition, and the mood within the club worsening week-in-week-out, it could yet be a miserable end to the season for the club's fans.
