Attitudes are already softening at Stoke following the replacement of Tony Pulis with Mark Hughes. They announced today that the club would be providing free travel for all fans to away games next season.

From StokeCityFC.com:

STOKE CITY are to offer their supporters free coach travel to all of their Premier League games in the 2013-14 season, the Club has announced today.

It is believed to be the first time any side in England’s top four divisions has undertaken such a bold initiative for an entire campaign.

Coaches will leave from the Britannia Stadium for all 19 of the Potters’ top flight matches, starting with their Premier League curtain raiser against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday 17th August.

The Club is introducing the initiative on the back of the increase in their income delivered by the new TV deals, in a bid to try and ease the financial burden on fans who follow City on their travels.

Under Pulis a proposal like this would surely have been scoffed at and viewed as money that could have been put towards acquiring the next Cameron Jerome for the club.

Also, the Football Cliches is right on top of things as usual.
