The draw for the 2022 FIFA World Cup has taken place in Qatar this evening, throwing up some very intriguing looking fixtures.

The 29 teams already qualified for the tournament, as well as those vying for the other three spots, now know who they will face in the group stages of the tournament.

Group G looks most likely to be christened as the 'group of death', with Brazil, Switzerland, Serbia, and Cameroon set to face off in that one.

England have received a relatively favourable draw, being placed alongside USA, Iran, and one of Wales, Scotland, or Ukraine.

The most eye-catching matchup in the group stages will come in the form of Spain vs Germany, although it will be expected that those two sides should have little trouble in securing one of the top two positions.

Hosts Qatar will have a tough task in their tournament debut, with Netherlands, Senegal, and Ecuador all looking like stronger outfits ahead of the tournament.

Here is the draw in full.

Certainly an interesting draw, with some big ties thrown up for the European and South American sides.

The tournament will kick off in November, with the three remaining places in the tournament to be decided during the June international window.

There is still a major question mark hanging over Scotland's game against Ukraine, although the Scots do look like favourites to progress from that particular playoff.
