The Overlap has been one of the most popular additions to football media in recent years. Gary Neville's YouTube series sees him interview some of the biggest names in football and other sports, although the 'fan debates' have been particularly enjoyable.

The numerous specials have seen Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher join Neville in front of an audience to discuss the current talking points in the game, often with very entertaining results.

Most of the shows have been filmed in front of small studio audiences, although there was one live show special filmed in London last year.

Now, the show is going on the road.

Gary Neville announced earlier this week that The Overlap would be taking in stops in London, Manchester, Liverpool, and Dublin in 2023.

A lot of football fans in this part of the world were looking forward to getting their hands on tickets for the event at the 3 Arena, although it seems a huge number of them were left disappointed after they went on general sale this morning.

The tickets for the March 2023 went on sale on Ticketmaster this morning at 10am, although it seems that very few people had any success in getting some.

Those who were online at the time were immediately told that the show was sold out, something that confused many.

It seems likely that the issue comes down to pre-sales.

There were a couple of opportunities to get tickets earlier in the week, with both 3 and promoter MCD offering the chance for early access on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. While there are normally only a limited number of tickets put on sale during these windows, it looks as though there were very few (if any) left over for the general sale on this occasion.

It speaks to the popularity of The Overlap in this country, with tickets still available for all three UK shows at the time of writing.

In all, those who attempted to partake in the general sale were not happy.

A number of comments on Gary Neville's Instagram post about the tickets going on sale told a similar story.

It remains to be seen if they will consider adding a date in Dublin at some point next year, although getting that trio on the same schedule on another occasion could prove to be a challenge.
