The Premier League Fixture List Hasn't Been Kind To Brendan Rodgers

Having lost 6-1 to Stoke on the final day of the season, Liverpool fans were probably looking forward to spending the summer trying to forget about last season. But unfortunately for them, the fixture list has thrown up a return to the Britannia, home of their most humiliating result of recent time, on the first day of the season. One positive is that it gives Brendan Rodgers the chance to exorcise those ghosts of last season early on.

It will be necessary to hit the ground running as their first 7 away fixtures see some tough games coming thick and fast. After Stoke they face; Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea and Man City. So, that's the Merseyside derby and a game against the team they lost out on the battle for 5th to, sandwiched between last years top four.

Fans will be hoping for some solid home form or else it is very possible that they could see their season de-railed before people are complaining about how early the Christmas decorations are going up.

After that they face Stoke (home), Bournemouth (away), Newcastle (home), Swansea (away), before ending against Watford and West Brom. Every cloud has a silver lining that'll never walk alone and all that...
