Instead of having to listen to mere opinion, we've decided to team up with the good people of whoscored.com to show you the best team from a goal filled week of Champions League action.

Goalkeeper

Juri Lodygin-8.4

Zenit St Petersburg are the only team in this years Champions League with a 100% record so far after 4 games. They faced a tricky tie away to Lyon on Wednesday night and came away with an impressive 2-0 win.

Lodygin was on hand to pull off three saves and make two aerial claims as the Russian side maintained their perfect start.

Right Back

Darijo Srna-8.8

The veteran full back turned in a fine performance as Shakhtar thumped Swedish side Malmo 4-0 in Ukraine.

The Croatian tucked away a penalty during the win and completed 91% of his passes as he terrorised Malmo down the right hand side.

Centre Back

Diego Godin-8.5

Atletico Madrid will be disappointed not to have beaten Champions League debutantes FC Astana of Kazakhstan.

However the conditions were tough for Simeone's men who faced a long flight, -11 degrees conditions and an artificial pitch, so perhaps a point isn't as bad as it looks on paper.

Godin was a rock in defense for Atletico. The Uruguayan won a massive 7 aerial duels and completed 4 tackles to help maintain a clean sheet for the 2013-14 runners up.

Centre Back

Chris Smalling-8.4

Smalling has been one of the stand-out performers for United this season and he put in another solid performance against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

Smalling won five aerial duels and made a late clearance off the line to keep the score at 1-0.

David Alaba-8.9

Bayern's Austrian left back was in scintillating form as the German champions thumped Arsenal 5-1 in the Allianz Arena.

Alaba registered an assist and capped off a wonderful all-round performance with a wonderful strike from 25 yards out.

Right Midfield

  Neymar-10 The Brazilian superstar had a hand in all three of Barcelona's goals during the 3-0 win over BATE on Wednesday night. Neymar coolly converted a penalty in the absence of Leo Messi, he assisted Suarez for the second and was on hand to knock in the third. A perfect 10 for the Barca forward.

Centre Midfield

Thomas Muller-9.0 Although he usually plays higher up the field, Muller's technical position in Bayern's line up is as a central midfielder. The German international bagged two goals during the mauling of Arsenal and moved into second on Bayern's all-time European goalscorer's list. Muller wears Adidas X 15 Leather boots available here

Centre Midfield

Thiago Alcantara-9.8 The Brazilian-born Spanish international is the go-to man in the middle of the Bayern midfield. Everything runs through Thiago and he dominated the middle of the park against Arsenal. Thiago registered a 90% pass completion rate and he assisted Lewandowski's opener. He also had attempted more passes than anyone else and had more accurate passes to his name.

Left Midfield

André André-9.3

Porto comfortably dismissed Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday night by 3-1 and winger André André had a big part to play.

André teed up Christian Tello for the first goal and then got on the scoresheet himself for Porto's second.

Striker

Luuk De Jong-8.8

Dutch champions PSV picked up a vital win over Wolfsburg on Tuesday night thanks to a big contribution from former Newcastle flop Luuk De Jong.

The Dutchman teed up Jürgen Locadia for PSV's first and netted the second goal of the game to put the result beyond doubt.

Striker

Luis Suarez-8.9

Suarez's goal on Wednesday was his tenth Champions league goal for Barcelona since joining from Liverpool.

The Uruguayan also turned provider for Man of the Match Neymar as Barcelona easily dismissed Bate 3-0.
