Robbie Keane signed for Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer of 2011. This week MLS thought they'd honour the man with most international goals for Ireland by selecting the top 5 Robbie Keane moments in MLS.
While the selection of his 'celebrity arrival' as a highlight may strike some as odd, the inclusion of Keane's tribue to James Nolan as the top moment is fairly poignent.
The football selected is pretty good too. Keane missed Tuesday's game with Austria through injury and remains second on the all-time Irish cap-holders list with 123 appearances for the national team. There's every reason to believe that Keane will pass Shay Given for that record before the end of the current qualifying campaign. Keane is, of course, by far the best goalscorer for Ireland on 54 goals. He's 33 ahead of second place Niall Quinn and and 42 ahead of the next best current player Kevin Doyle,
Keane has won the MLS Cup the the LA Galaxy in both his US seasons so far.
