Troy Parrott is in the finest form of his career.
Having endured a difficult spell at MK Dons earlier in the season, the Irishman has now very much kicked things up a couple of gears. He has earned rave reviews for his form at club level, even if goals continued to elude him until recent weeks.
That has now changed, with Parrott finding the back of the net for both club and country over the last number of weeks. His stunner against Lithuania gave him an ideal platform to build on for the rest of the season, something he very much did tonight.
With MK Dons facing Crewe Alexandra in the midst of their promotion push, the 20-year old would open the scoring in the first half of the game.
It was special.

Running in behind to seek out a long ball from one his teammates, Troy Parrott produced an incredible touch to pluck the ball out of the air and then dink the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.

What a finish!
His former Ireland U21 teammate Conor Coventry would double the lead a few minutes later with a well taken effort of his own.

This was Parrott's sixth goal in the league this season, going along six assists. He will be hoping to find the back of the net with more regularity in the months ahead as his team push for a place in the Championship next season.
A few more goals would certainly do his Ireland prospects no harm, with Stephen Kenny's side facing into four UEFA Nations League fixtures this June. Parrott has shown that he is capable of producing at international level and that could be his opportunity to really nail down his place in the side moving forward.
A few more moments of magic such as this one would go a long way to ensuring he is given the chance to do just that.
