The Brazilian captain had been substituted ten minutes from time. Instead of sitting back and enjoying the away win, he decided to engage in a verbal spat with the City fan. The fan (who shouted in Portuguese) accused the Brazilian of diving, leaving him fuming after the final whistle.
From the video footage, Neymar clearly advises the fan to wait until the final whistle before their eventual confrontation.

Neymar later explained his part in the incident to Brazilian media.
