Watch: Adnan Januzaj's Debut Season Highlights Are Sign Of What Could Have Been

Manchester United fans have been guilty of over-hyping a young talent before, but in the case of Adnan Januzaj, you could not blame anyone who felt that the young Belgian was destined for stardom.

The David Moyes "era" was a scary and puzzling time to support Manchester United. A squad that won the league the season previous looked lost and were being pushed around by teams who hadn't won at Old Trafford since before many of the club's oldest players were born.

And yet, the only silver lining of that season was a player promoted from the FA Youth Cup winning team who looked like the next great Manchester United winger.

Under Louis Van Gaal, Januzaj was not given the opportunities that he had been under Moyes, and his attitude turned to shite. The decision to allow him to pick the club he joined on loan turned out to be costly, as by thinking he was good enough to force his way into the Borussia Dortmund team he learned a harsh reality and never really recovered.

Still... That Adnan Januzaj debut season was incredible. A well-put-together montage by Vimeo user 'Money May' shows just how difficult to handle he was.

So much talent.

While his Manchester United career isn't technically over, Januzaj will likely face another difficult year on loan at Sunderland and it seems unlikely that he will ever recover the form his showed in that debut season.

A case of what might have been.
