Aiden McGeady could be in line to start for Ireland in their crucial World Cup qualifier with Wales on Friday as there have been few players showcasing the form that he has over the past few months and, with an injury to Wes Hoolahan and a suspension for Robbie Brady, there are two spots available in the Irish side going by the team that beat Austria.

We've been on McGeady-watch in a big way in recent weeks as he has been bagging goals and assists, turning on the style with his bag of tricks, and even scooping Championship player of the month for February, and as if Preson North End fans weren't loving him enough already, he went and bagged a late equaliser against Blackburn for his club on Saturday.

Preston took the lead early on but found themselves trailing shortly into the second half. Blackburn looked to be close to ending their run of draws at three but Aiden McGeady popped up in the 90th minute to steal a point as he kept his head from just outside the six-yard box.

Blackburn have now drawn their last three games 2-2, which is odd.

McGeady has been tremendous for Preston under Simon Greyson, and the club's fans were quick to shower him with love on social media after his latest act of heroism.
