Watch: Ariel Helwani Was Spot On In His Criticism Of Joe Rogan's Commentary For CM Punk

The talk of the MMA world this week has been Mickey Gall's destruction of CM Punk on the former WWE superstar's big night in the UFC.

In the build up to UFC 203, nobody knew exactly what to expect (although many did predict total destruction), and while the majoity of viewers were excited to see this experiment - taking an athlete from no MMA training to competing in the octagon in two years - there were a section of MMA fans who wanted nothing to do with it.

It seemed that Joe Rogan fell into the latter category.

While we were waiting for Punk and Gall to throw down, Rogan clearly expressed his feelings that this was not an idea supported, and it was a night and day contrast to the hype he had been pumping into the event all night (as he usually does, we're big Rogan fans here at Balls.ie).

On The MMA Hour this week, Ariel Helwani called him out for it, and he was absolutely spot on.

Rogan is the best in the business, but that was not his finest moment. We were already bought in, we were watching... We didn't need to hear opinions as to whether it should or shouldn't happen, that time had passed.

Helwani's stance on not talking shit to anyone who has made the step into the octagon to actually fight someone is also spot on, but sadly it seems to be lost on a worrying of MMA fans on social media who take great joy in ripping the piss out of fighters who lose, and CM Punk is no exception in that regard.

In fact, even the WWE took the piss out of CM Punk, something that just looks a bit petty the night after a fight.

Helwani was speaking on his regular show The MMA Hour, and his chat with Mickey Gall was particularly enjoyable as well. You can watch it in full below:
