Fernando Foristieri was once touted for big things if you base all of your foreign football knowledge on Football Manager.

The former Udinese and Watford man is now 26, and has impressed fans while plying his trade for Sheffield Wednesday in The Championship. The Owls toppled Brighton 2-0 at Hillsborough last night in the first leg of their playoff semi-final, with Ross Wallace and Kieran Lee grabbing the goals after Foristieri's own strike was contentiously ruled out for offside.

Wallace had seemingly played his teammate back onside when he attempted to flick the ball on from a goal kick as the Argentine rushed back towards the defensive line, but the officials suggested Wallace didn't make contact with the ball, meaning Foriestieri - who started the phase about 25 yards offside - was, indeed, offside.
