After finishing in 3rd place of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Netherlands will not be participating in Euro 2016 after a truly disastrous campaign reached a low point against the Czech Republic tonight.

Robin Van Persie's own goal to make the score 3-0 to the Czechs was the last kiss goodbye to a chance of making the playoffs, and when you see the manner in which it was scored, it's just shocking.

Oh dear. So bad it nearly looks deliberate.

Considering that will probably be RVP's last act as a Dutch international, it's got to be tough to take. Since Louis Van Gaal left the Oranje they have been in a terrible state, and it's hard to believe that a side that have breezed through qualification in recent years will not be participating in an expanded 24 team European Championship.

It's been a tough time of late for Van Persie, as he looks absolutely miserable at Fenerbache too.
