With Brighton & Hove Albion travelling to London Stadium for a clash with West Ham on Friday night, the Sky Sports team were set up for 'Friday Night Football' the more casual and relaxed sibling of Monday Night Football.

After conducting a few interviews pitch-side, Jamie Carragher headed up to his co-commentary position where he was asked to offer some pre-match tactical analysis on Chris Hughton's Brighton following their encouraging start to the season.

The former Liverpool man singled out the centre-back partnership of Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk as crucial to the club's chances of staying in the top flight, before revealing that Duffy is currently ranked second in the Premier League in combined blocks, clearances, and interceptions.

Vital in the air, that's Duffy, he's more of the commanding one in the air, a young player that came through at Everton.

We don't see enough of this in the Premier League now, we want a lot more from our centre-backs, that's the way the game is going, but there's nothing better for me in the role that I played to see defenders defend like this, and want to defend. Doing everything they can to stop that ball going into the back of the net.

A lot of their success will be built on those two centre-backs. If they are going to stay in the league they need to keep them fit, and if they perform they are going to give Brighton a fighting chance.

Duffy & Dunk, it does have an 80s buddy-cop-film ring to it.

Let's have another look at that Shane Duffy stat while we're here:

Nice to see someone pointing out the positive start Duffy has had, Lewis Dunk too has been excellent and the pair have formed what has proven to be a strong partnership thus far.

Carragher was also on great form earlier in the night as he couldn't resist a dig at James Collins' choice of casual wear.
