Jamie Vardy became the first Leicester City player to score for England since 1985 with a peach of a finish against world champions Germany, as an intrepid England came from two goals down to beat their old rivals at the Olympiastadion.

After five international caps without a goal, Vardy got the monkey off his back with a superbly-taken goal - his 20th of the season - as he flicked home through his legs from a driven cross.

Vardy's goal drew the sides level after Harry Kane had responded to two German goals by Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez. Kane's goal, too, was fairly tasty, as the Spurs striker turned in the German box before firing a trademark finish into the bottom corner.

It was left to Kane's Spurs teammate Eric Dier to pull an unlikely winner out of the bag, as the defender slammed home a header in stoppage time for an impressive victory by Roy Hodgson's young side.
