Alarm bells are starting to ring at Real Madrid. Tonight the La Liga and Champions League champions failed to secure a victory against Athletic Bilbao ensuring they remain 4th in La Liga, eight points off Barcelona.

They have won just one of their last five away games and failed to score tonight as Ronaldo, Benzema and co. looked totally disjointed. It was a frustrating night for the entire side and eventually captain Serio Ramos was sent off for a second bookable offence after questionable use of his elbow.

The red card was a record-breaking 19th for Sergio Ramos while it is the 24th time he has been sent-off for Real Madrid in all competitions. It means he will miss next weekend's clash with Sevilla in what is now a crucial game.

With El Classico in two weeks, Madrid will be desperate to regain some form, starting with a game against Dortmund this week.
