They say you should always read a contract through in full before you sign it, and in a similar vein, you should always read a tweet in full before you re-tweet it.

West Ham United owner David Gold is a very busy man. He's got his hand in several pies in the business world, he runs a football club, and he manages his own social media accounts to allow West Ham fans more personal access to the man who's in charge of their team.

Carl Jenkinson put in one of the worst 10-minute shifts in Premier League history on Saturday where he limped off the pitch after injuring himself by giving a penalty away, and the West Ham fans were less than impressed with a player who has had a seriously underwhelming campaign after showing promise last season on loan from Arsenal.

One West Ham fan tweeted abuse at Jenkinson under the guise of praise for the West Ham owner, and the result was a man who runs a football club re-tweeting a message that said one of his players was "wank":

Poor Carl Jenkinson.

The on loan Arsenal full-back is known for his ability to enjoy a laugh, so he'll surely see the funny side of it.

This isn't the first mistake Gold has made on twitter, after he announced the signing of Pedro Obiang with a picture of Angelo Ogbonna, but at least he's making an effort.
