Jose Mourinho once again refused to address the elephant in the room following the Capital One Cup win over Walsall last night. Chelsea may appear to be clicking into gear but the departure of the club doctor remains the big story around Stamford Bridge and eventually Chelsea boss is going to have to take his head out of the sand.
After reports emerged yesterday that the Gibraltar born doctor would not have resigned had Mourinho apologised, it seemed things were beginning to reach a crescendo. Even Chelsea fans were voicing their disquiet with their manager's questionable conduct throughout the entire situation.
Now, things are beginning to gather momentum. The FA have already confirmed that they are investigating a complaint that Mourinho used 'sexist, abusive language' towards Carneiro. The details of that investigation are now beginning to emerge.
The Daily Mail are reporting that the FA have received an email complaint from a member of the public claiming that Mourinho was heard calling Carneiro 'filha da puta', which is Portuguese for 'daughter of a whore'. On top of that, the FA have now received additional evidence from Women in Football who have submitted video evidence and testimony from a Portuguese translator who has stated that Mourinho specifically targeted Carneiro in the incident which also involved Chelsea physio Jon Fearn.
It is thought that Mourinho is claiming to have said 'son of a whore' in a general manner but the Women in Football group are claiming that their evidence specifically shows that the insult was specifically directed at Carneiro.
