Manchester United have secured their place in the FA Cup final, defeating Brighton in dramatic circumstances in their semi-final at Wembley Stadium this evening.

Despite the 0-0 scoreline, it was not a game that was short on memorable incidents. The two sides missed a number of good chances throughout, with both David De Gea and Roberto Sanchez producing some excellent saves to maintain their clean sheets.

Ultimately, the game would be decided on penalties. Even the spot kicks would go the distance, with Victor Lindelof ultimately sealing the win for Erik ten Hag's side in sudden death.

They will now face Manchester City in the final on June 3rd.

Manchester United fans point out Wout Weghorst role in FA Cup win

It was a very high standard of penalties on show at Wembley Stadium, with only one miss from the 14 that were taken. Brighton's Solly March was the only player to miss his spot kick, with his missed shot over the crossbar ultimately proving to be a costly one.

The player that took the penalty just before him was Wout Weghorst, who converted calmly.

This wasn't his only role in securing the win.

After scoring his own penalty, he did his best to put March off ahead of the next kick. That included holding onto the ball for as long as possible and encouraging David De Gea to employ a few mind games of his own.

Wout Weghorst certainly enjoyed himself after the victory, sprinting towards the United fans to celebrate the result.

He has been a much criticised figure since moving to Old Trafford on loan in January, although he will be hoping that this will help him turn things around at Manchester United.
