This Premier League season has been one of the most bizarre ever. No one would have expected Leicester to be sitting pretty with a seven point lead in April. No one would have expected Chelsea to be languishing in the bottom half of the table. No one would have expected West Ham to be challenging the Manchester clubs for a top four place.

But that's the reality that we are living in.

And while the latest David de Gea to Real Madrid rumour is all but expected, another potential departure from Old Trafford isn't. According to the Express, Chris Smalling is the latest target for West Ham. The Hammers are apparently looking to secure Champions League ahead of United to lure the England centre-back to their new home at the Olympic Stadium for £20 million.

That's European challenging West Ham, targeting one of United's best performers Chris Smalling. Could you have imagined this even last year? The idea of one of Man United's best players moving to another English club - and one that hasn't one the Premier League before - seems unheard of.

Whether there is basis to the rumour or not, the very idea that Man Utd are becoming a selling club to West Ham is the latest in a long line of outrageous things that have happened in this Premier League season.

What's next? Jose Mourinho replaces Claudio Ranieri at Leicester?
