Anthony Daly and Liam Sheedy picked their Hurling Team of the League on RTÉ's League Sunday.

The side features eight players from league champions Waterford, three from finalists Cork, three from semi-finalists Kilkenny, and one from the other semi-finalists Wexford.

2022 Hurling Team of the League

1. Shaun O'Brien (Waterford)

Anthony Daly: There's a lot of talk in Waterford that Stephen O'Keeffe should be begged to come back after the Ballygunner exploits. Shaun has done really well. Delighted for him. He's settled in. It's only the league, of course! He's played great stuff so far.

2. Conor Gleeson (Waterford)

AD: Shane Kingston did test him in the second half [of the league final] but he's really been their go-to man maker.

3. Huw Lawlor (Kilkenny)

AD: There are a raft of great fullbacks around at the moment, but this guy is probably top dog so far this year,

4. Mikey Butler (Kilkenny)

AD: What a find in Mikey Butler. Cody coming up with the goods again. He has been brilliant. Man marked some of the best forwards in the country, and game up with the goods in all the games.

5. Jack Fagan (Waterford)

Liam Sheedy: Great move by Liam Cahill to get him back in the half-back line. Very, very effective [in the league final]. He's had a league campaign.

6. Tadhg de Burca (Waterford)

LS: He orchestrates everything from number six. He minds the house but he also drives forward at every opportunity.

7. Ciarán Joyce (Cork)

LS: A young guy, U20. He's really come of age in the National League.

8. Darragh Fitzgibbon (Cork)

LS: He scored 2-14 from play. Probably didn't have his best evening [in the league final] but he's done enough over the league campaign to make the team.

9. Carthach Daly (Waterford)

LS: His performance [in the league final] was a joy to watch. For such a young guy that had no inhibitions out there.

10. Robbie O'Flynn (Cork)

AD: A great, consistent league. He was a thorn in most teams. Delivered 1-3 [in the league final] when they weren't going so well.

11. Padraig Walsh (Kilkenny)

AD: What are we supposed to say? Moved up from half-back, can play anywhere. Points from every angle.

12. Austin Gleeson (Waterford)

AD: We couldn't leave Aussie out of a league team. He'd be very disappointed with the last turn of events. He was brilliant, even in that semi-final, 2-3 from play. I'd be really looking forward to what will happen. Liam (Cahill) has him in the palm of his hand now.

13. Rory O'Connor (Wexford)

LS: He picks himself. 3-18 from play. He's just unmarkable on his day. He looks set for a really good championship.

14. Stephen Bennett (Waterford)

LS: Probably the Player of the League. He's finished with 8-51. It's an incredible total.

15. Jack Prendergast (Waterford)

LS: He got three points [in the league final]. This guy covers every blade of grass.
