The draw for the group stages of the 2023 Sam Maguire Cup was made on May 2nd,. The final fixture pairings were confirmed after Sunday's Ulster final drama.
The 16 counties competing for this year's All-Ireland Football Championship were drawn into four seeded groups with each containing four teams.
The draw has been made before the conclusion of the four provincial championships. Teams which win their provincial championships will be seeded first with the losing finalists entering as second seeds.
The third and fourth seeds have been decided by the rankings from the end of the Allianz Football Leagues. 2022 Tailteann Cup champions Westmeath will also be fourth seeds.

2023 Sam Maguire Cup group stage fixtures
Teams will play three games in the group stage - one at home, one away, and one at a neutral venue.
The first-placed team in each group goes straight through to the All-Ireland quarter-finals, while the second and third-placed teams will play in the preliminary quarter-finals.
Second-placed teams will get home advantage in the preliminary quarter-finals, which will be played June 24/25. The All-Ireland quarter-finals, which will be played at neutral venues, will take place on July 1/2.
