January football generally isn't very interesting, but DCU's defeat of Dublin in the O'Byrne Cup yesterday certainly raised an eyebrow.

That eyebrow has been further peaked with the Indo's report that there was an alleged biting incident during the game.

The incident is alleged to have occurred during the second half when some fracas broke out between a group of players. All parties now wait to see if the incident appears in the referee's match report. If it is referenced in the report then the matter will likely be investigated by the Leinster Council.

Dublin's Kevin O'Brien was cleared of biting allegations following a National League game against Donegal last year.
