Armagh midfielder Stephen Sheridan is set for a spell on the sidelines after the midfielder was hit with a two-game retrospective ban.

The CCCC proposed the ban after cameras captured an incident between Sheridan and Donegal's Eoghan Ban Gallagher during last Saturday's Allianz League clash. Sheridan appeared to step down on Gallagher's ankle while the Donegal man was on the ground.

The game finished in a 1-09 to 0-11 victory for Donegal.

Speaking on RTE's Allianz League Sunday, Sean Cavanagh was critical of the "calculated" move.

This isn't nice. It's cold, it's calculated. Eoghan Ban Gallagher lands on the turf and Stephan Sheridan purposely stands on him. There is no other way of dressing it up. You don't want to see that, no one wants to see that in our game.
