Congratulations are in order for Sligo goalkeeper Aidan Devaney who was today voted as the winner of the 2015 Balls.ie Beard Bracket. Devaney vanquished Paul Durcan, Aidan O'Shea, John Muldoon and Matt Nickerson for a legendary win that will go down in the annals in Sligo sporting history. He beat three of the four greatest beards in Ireland en route to the title. Devaney, with his ginger beard, is truly a worthy a champion.
Devaney scooped 93% of the final vote. It is a landslide you might expect in Soviet Russia or Mugabe's Zimbabwe. It is perhaps the most one-sided vote ever held in Irish history and we can only congratulate Mr Devaney and all in Sligo and Connaught GAA for this monumental achievement.
