Castlebar Mitchels Failed To Show Up On The Big Day - Twitter Reacts Sensitively

Castlebar Mitchels went to Croke Park today looking to add an All-Ireland club title to the whingeing All-Ireland that was conferred on them recently by a prominent politician.

Sadly, this particular double proved out of reach and they'll have to make do with the whingeing award for the time being.

We're aware that this is a sensitive time in Castlebar. A second All-Ireland club final defeat in three years is no picnic.

They enjoyed a tremendous season, unseating the 2015 All-Ireland champs Corofin in the Connacht football - a match which somehow managed to be entertaining despite the scandalous state of the pitch.

Today, they never exited the traps properly and the spectacle morphed into the dampest of squibs. They were 23 minutes before getting a score.

In the absence of excitement on the field, the twitter community amused itself by repeating the same joke. This is more bad news for Enda Kenny.
