Cavan will play London later today in their first championship match in Croke Park since 1997, where they lost to Kerry in the All Ireland semi-final. But when was the last time they actually came away from Croker with a win in the championship?

You have to go back all of 61 years to the 1952 All Ireland final when they beat Meath after a replay, on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-5. Captain Mick Higgins collected the trophy.

It's mad how a county, who had in the 21 years previous to 1952 had won 18 Ulster titles, has now gone on to win just seven in 61 years but thanks to the qualifiers, they have the chance to put at least put one poor record to bed today.
