Crosserlough were crowned Cavan senior football champions for the first time since 1972 on Saturday night.
They defeated Kingscourt by five points - 0-13 to 0-8 - in a replay after the two teams finished level last weekend.
"It's unreal," Patrick Lynch told BBC Northern Ireland.
"48 years is a long time for this club. We're a big club. We've been pushing it the last couple of years - we were unlucky two years ago. Thankfully, we got over the line this evening.
"At the start of the year, we were wrote off. We were missing our captain from last year Dara McVeety and Paul McEvoy, two of our leaders.
"We came together at the start of the year and said we're good enough to win this without the boys and thankfully we did the job."

The score of the match came from Crosserlough midfielder James Smith when he caught a kickout one-handed over Kingscourt's Padraig Faulkner and then burst forward to kick a point.
"I remember doing it," said Smith.
"You never have Faulkner beat. Once the ball came over the top to the two of us, you just had to go as fast as you can because Faulkner is going to be on your heels. I'm not the most accurate player on the field, thankfully the kicking happened [for me] there today.
"Our club [once] won seven in a row. 48 years is a long time. My father and uncle were playing on them teams in the 90s that were getting to finals and losing. They just couldn't get across the line. People were wondering was that going to happen to us."
