Kerry have been crowned the All Ireland Football Champions for 2022, after defeating Galway 0-20 to 0-16. Unsurprisingly, their talisman and the best footballer in the country, David Clifford, was at the fore, and finished with a tally of 0-8.

Despite Kerry pulling away in the last ten minutes, Galway matched them point for point for the majority of the game, and a large part of their ability to stay in the fight was down to the brilliance of Shane Walsh, who ended the game with some very classy scores.

Such were the performances of David Clifford and Shane Walsh, that Jim McGuinness and Peter Canavan, who were part of Sky Sports' punditry panel, agreed that it would be remembered as the Shane Walsh and David Clifford final.

It's going to be remembered for those two guys, their final in many respects," said Jim McGuinness after the game. "Some of these scores here are absolutely outrageous, as were David Clifford's. The composure and the ability to go left side , right side, and stroke it under immense pressure.

"This one here is even more so the same concept, taking them on squaring them up in the face. It was just incredible, incredible kicking.

Peter Canavan, who played with a similar swagger and brashness to David Clifford, agreed with McGuiness.

As you said it's going to be remembered for the Walsh and Clifford final, and absolutely amazing to watch.

Kerry legend Kieran Donaghy, who was the punditry booth alongside Cavanagh and McGuinness, echoed their thoughts on the brilliance of both Walsh and Clifford.

When the man of the match is named later on RTE's The Sunday Game, both men would be deserved winners, but of course after Kerry's victory, the award will more than likely go to David Clifford.
