Limerick were simply faultless in the second half of this afternoon's Munster final against Tipperary.

Having been completely outplayed in the first period, they didn't put a foot wrong during the second 35 minutes. Despite the gap at the interval, the five-point gap at the end in no way flattered John Kiely's side.

Considering the way they just flicked a switch in that game, it is difficult to see how any other team in the country can get anywhere near Limerick if they are on it.

It also busted the narrative that this is a boring side to watch in that they stick rigidly to a pre-designed system and rarely play off the cuff.

Speaking on The Sunday Game, Donal Óg Cusack labelled the claims of some that this Limerick side were not exciting to watch as 'bullshit':

It will inspire generations of Limerick players the way they are playing that game.

It really showed that that 'systematic' thing, which is thrown as a negative towards them, is bullshit. It is said by fellas who don't understand what they are talking about.

They're a credit, the way the work together and trust each other...

What we saw there today is investment is a decade of investment in proper strength and conditioning in young players. Anyone that's in the know knows that Limerick took a very professional approach in how they were going to invest.

All those things are secondary to players putting the ball over the bar, we get that, but there is a wider organisation that deserves great credit looking at these images here today.

This was Limerick's third Munster title on the trot, but you suspect they are set to rack up quite a few more of those over the next half decade or so.

You'd get the impression that a couple more Liam McCarthy's could follow as well.
