Dublin ladies football manager Gregory McGonigle isn't happy after his side lost the All-Ireland ladies football final by a solitary point against Cork in controversial circumstances. Dublin's Carla Rowe scored a point in the first half of the game that appeared to be over the bar but was waved wide by the umpire.

Speaking after the game, McGonigle felt that it was perhaps unfair that HawkEye had not been available in the ladies final. If a similar incident were to occur in the men's final, HawkEye would be readily available.

And quotes from McGonigle reported by John Fogarty of 'The Irish Examiner' indicated the Derryman's displeasure at the scenario:

We preach all year about having equality and standards. If this happened next Saturday, we would be going to HawkEye...when we come to our national stadium to play I believe a young girl of 12 years of age growing up dreaming to play in Croke Park should be getting the same basics as the men get. Fundamentally, I believe our ladies association have let us down.

Forty-five to sixty officials spent a week in San Diego in the earlier part of the year. What do you think would be more important?

Damien Lawlor of RTE is reporting that the Dublin GAA Executive are set to meet tonight and discuss what further steps to take. McGonigle told reporters that he would be meeting with county board officials to have a "quick chat".

McGonigle said that "a shrug of the shoulders" was the response to the Dublin management's appeals at half-time.
