Some outrageous point-scoring from Diarmuid Connolly sent St Vincent's through to the Dublin senior football championship final after defeating Ballymun Kickhams on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-11 at Parnell Park.

Three second half scores from Connolly at a vital stage of the game proved crucial at the end of a brilliantly engrossing tussle in which Dean Rock's deadly accurate free-taking was what kept Ballymun in the match for large periods - though Vincent's have goalkeeper Michael Savage to thank for producing a couple of outstanding saves in the first half.

Connolly also kicked a score from the left corner of the pitch in the first half that brought up memories of Stephen O'Neill's ridiculous point from the touchline against Dublin in the 2009 floodlit National League game.
