Anyone who's heard Laois footballer Colm Parkinson's unhinged, off-the-cuff and generally insightful thoughts on Newstalk over the past six months while have been pretty disappointed by his performance since joining Twitter. It's a bit like watching Tiger Woods play golf post-Elin. You know the man is capable of so much more than banter with MJ Tierney. So it was with great relief today to read Parkinson this afternoon cutting into Kildare's Andriu MacLochlainn over the Bernard Brogan 'free' on Sunday.
You don't often get cross-Twitter trash talk, and with Laois and Kildare meeting in the qualifers next weekend, I suppose the only thing better would be Justin McNulty reconsidering his disinterest in Parkinson and bringing him back to face MacLochlainn.
