Former Mayo footballer Enda Varley put St. Vincents on their way to a three-in-a-row of County titles with 1-8 including 1-06 from play during the defending Champions 2-17 to 2-15 victory over Na Fianna.

Varley, who transferred to the club in 2016, was in sensational form and landed an early goal with a left-footed rocket into the roof of the net.

Experience was the call of the day as Varley and 1-4 from Tomas Quinn made up for an absent Diarmuid Connolly.

The win marks St. Vincent's second in Group 1 and ensures they progress to the next round which is scheduled for later in the year.

Varley is based in Dublin and working as a teacher. When asked could he still do a job for Mayo, a delighted Varley told Eir Sport "I'm a wedding in June so I'm all right."
