Last weekend saw celebrations at opposite ends of the country in the Electric Ireland Minor Hurling Championship.

In Ulster, Antrim continued their domination in the province. The side won their fifth Ulster title in a row after defeating Derry.

Cork's minors were also victorious, after overpowering Clare in Thurles. It was their first Munster title since 2001, in what was the beginning of a memorable day for Cork's fans.

Players from Antrim and Cork make up the nominees for the Electric Ireland Minor Player of the Week voting after their Provincial wins. You can cast your ballot every week on Electric Ireland's Facebook page, and get involved in the conversation through #GAAThisIsMajor.

Evan Sheehan - Cork

Before Sunday, the last time the Cork minors were Munster champions, Evan Sheehan was in primary school. Scoring 2-2 against Clare, he wrote his name into the storied history of Semple stadium with a Man of the Match performance.

Playing his third game in less than two week, the Na Piarsaigh corner-forward scored his two goals in the space of four first-half minutes to send Cork on their way to their first provincial title of the day.

Cork's minors have not won the All-Ireland since 2001. With players like Sheehan in their ranks, that may change in September.

Daire Connery - Cork

While Sheehan grabbed the headlines after Cork's win, the 17-point win would not have been as big without the accuracy of Daire Connery.

From midfield, the Na Piarsaigh star was accurate from frees, scoring 0-6 in total. Only one point came from open play.

Over the course of this year's Munster championship, Connery has scored 0-22, with an amazing 0-16 of that total coming from frees or sideline cuts.

Tiarnan Murphy - Antrim

Antrim's domination of the Ulster Minor Championship continued at the weekend. The Saffrons defeated Derry by eight points in Owenbeg, for their fifth Provincial title in a row.

Tiarnan Murphy, a corner-forward from Rossa, scored 1-5 and was named Man of the Match. He scored Antrim's first goal early in the first-half, and from there, the team never looked like giving up their title.

Along with wing-forward Ed McQuillan, the duo caused havoc in the Derry defence, to give Antrim a deserved win.
