With the NFL in the midst of free agency and the draft approaching soon, we though it would be interesting to take a fictional look at what might happen if the same kind of trades were legal in the GAA.

Cian Mackey (Cavan) for Tommy Walsh (Kerry)

Kieran Donaghy has solidified his place as the target man for the coming year and Kerry were in the market for a hard running half forward just incase the Paul Galvin thing doesn't work out. Cavan, on the other hand, were in need of a full forward and Tommy Walsh was on the trading block. Deal Done!

Enda Smith (Roscommon) for Paul Mannion (Dublin)

Despite Dublin making it to the league final, they are always looking to upgrade in their forwards. Paul Mannion needs a change of scenery and is said to enjoy the midlands and Roscommon in particular. Smith, on the other hand, was swayed despite holding reservations that the night life in the country's capital won't compare to the nightlife in Roscommon.

Tomas O Connor (Free Agent) to Kerry

Kerry were not happy with their full forward corps having lost Tommy Walsh to Cavan and decided to pick up O'Connor, who recently became a free agent after cutting ties with Kildare. He will play backup to Donaghy and possibly take over for "Star" when his contract with Kerry expires.

Kevin Cassidy (Free Agent) To Tyrone

Despite the fact that Cassidy has been a free agent for quite a while and his conditioning has been called into question, Mickey Harte decided to take a chance on the former Donegal defender. As Harte looks to build a team that resembles Donegal, he figured it was time to call in an expert of the system and turned to Cassidy for guidance on the matter!

Keith Higgins (Mayo) for Mickey Bourke and Graham Reilly (Meath)

With cornerbacks at a premium and following the hacking of Higgins' twitter account recently, rumours of a move were still circling. Meath get a ferocious cornerback and one of the best in the business and in return Mayo get a direct runner and scorer in Reilly along with a ferocious tackler in his own right in Bourke.
