We're not sure why this wasn't bigger news during the week, but in Shay Given's column in the Sun on Sunday last week, he revealed that Jimmy McGuinness asked the Villa back-up if he still considered playing goalie with Donegal while the two were at Celtic Park for the match against Juventus last week.

Via the Donegal Democrat:

“He asked me too did I ever think about playing for Donegal some day. I don’t know if he was serious or joking, it’s hard to tell with Jim. If he was serious, then who knows! As I said to him — ‘never say never’!”

Going from sure-to-be-relegated Villa to the All-Ireland champions would be a great move for Given, but would he get a game?
